SuperFabric

High performance material science

SuperFabric’s® manufacturing process produces negligible amounts of volatiles and hazardous by-products.

SuperFabric® can be printed onto a wide variety of base fabrics including those made from renewable, environmentally friendly materials (such as cotton).

SuperFabric® brand materials can be used as a replacement for leather. (Leather tanning consumes large amounts of water and generates pollutants such as sulfides and chromium and releases volatile organic components into the atmosphere. It has been estimated that the leather tanning industry generates 800,000 tons of chrome shavings annually and much of this waste ends up in landfills. SuperFabric® brand materials do not consume any water nor do they release any pollutants into the environment.)

Because SuperFabric® brand materials in clothing will significantly increase the lifetime of the garment, SuperFabric® can actually reduce the total amount of fibers that are disposed of every year.

When SuperFabric® brand material is disposed of in a landfill, the fabric components will biodegrade over time leaving behind inert, non-toxic plates or “pebbles.”
